Night Vision Helo Engagements
OVERVIEW
This high intensity fast paced course is an open enrollment class for all law abiding citizens. This course will implement the crawl, walk, run method. Instruction will consist of classroom, flat range weapons handling, live fire drills, IR laser use and safety procedures during both day-time and night-time. You will learn basic helicopter operations and familiarization from US Army UH-1 Huey and UH-60 Blackhawk instructor pilots. We will incorporate dry runs and live fire exercises as well as basic NVG usage. This course will prepare you for proper ground and air operations with and without NVGs.Â

- Weapons Safety, Flow, and Manipulation communication
- Target ID and proper aerial engagements techniques.
COURSE PRE-REQUISITES
- Must be able to demonstrate proper weapons handling and safety and apply the 4 rules of firearms safety.
- Firearm handling and shooting ability are a must because of the NVG use and drills being conducted at night and in and around the Huey helicopter.
- Day sight optics need to be zeroed prior to course, there will not be time to zero a gun.
- AK Style rifles are prohibited.

Waiver Rights
- You understand by signing up for this course you are agreeing to follow all rules and directions given to you by pilots, instructors and any other personnel. You also understand aircraft/firearm use can be dangerous. Training, communication, and following directions can reduce risk. You will also be required to sign a release of liability acknowledging the risks & dangers associated with this course. Instructors will assess students during the entire training and if at any time a student creates any safety risk to themselves, instructors, other students, or the aircraft you will be asked to leave, and no refunds will be given!
Weather disclaimer
- Jawless Hog will take into account all weather and other variables when conducting a course with the
use of aircraft. However, weather conditions cannot be controlled. We will do everything we can to
work around any weather issues and fly, as long as there are no added safety risks to students,
instructors, or aircraft.
The Huey aircraft pilot will make the final decision whether to conduct the flight or not based on
weather.Â
If weather is likely to keep the aircraft grounded, we will do our best to adjust the training schedule
and times in order to get the bird airborne.
All options will be discussed; however, the pilot is responsible for safety of flight, and has the final
say.Â
If weather or any other issues prevent a night time flight Jawless Hog will refund $200 to each
enrolled student.
If weather conditions cause a complete course cancellation students will have the option to be
rescheduled into the next course or receive a 50% refund of the course cost.
Lodging
- Ben Franklin Range offers on-site lodging. 12 bunk beds, storage lockers, a common area, a kitchenette, and two full bathrooms offer students and groups the opportunity to stay and store their gear on-site while taking classes. (Not included in course price)
