Tactical Night Vision Operator

OVERVIEW

This one-day introduction to Night Vision Course is designed for law abiding citizens and law enforcement officers who are interested in utilizing and understanding proper use of night vision. This basic intro course is designed to introduce new or aspiring night vision users to understand some basic principles of night vision, the science, equipment, and basic practical applications of the use of night vision devices. In this course you will be given a basic overview of how Night Vision can be an extremely powerful addition to any low light situation. Adding the ability to see in the darkest environments is a huge tactical advantage. You will receive class room and hands on training over topics such as: Types of night vision, The internals of NVGs and how they operate, Implementing NVGs, IR systems, mounting options, Target ID, proper weapons flow and engagements. This course is designed to get you a base line for nigh vision use, this course is designed for any level experience with Night Vision. This will be a low stress intro to prepare you to effectively begin to use Night Vision equipment as an integral part of their personal kit.

**A limited number of PVS-14 Night vision devices, IR lasers, and Bump helmets can be rented**

  • Equipment selection, set up, and use
  • Operation of Equipment
  • IR laser use and zeroing (parallel vs converging)
  • IR Light advantages/disadvantages
  • Threat ID
  • Weapons Safety, Flow, and Manipulation
  • Shooting From and Working with Cover
  • Alt Shooting Positions

COURSE PRE-REQUISITES

  • Must be able to demonstrate proper firearms safety
  • Day sight optics need to be zeroed prior to course
